| Pastoral references |
Our New Organ Is on it's way!....... |
|
It is the time of year when
education students are looking for Pastoral References to apply as
teachers in the Catholic School Boards. These Pastoral References are
essential, if you are to teach in the Catholic Board. The reference,
asks the Parish Priest to attest to the practice of the Catholic Faith
of the candidate. This includes the areas of Faith Practice-
are you going to church on Sunday, are you registered in the Parish that
you attend and are you receiving the Sacraments on a regular basis. Involvement-
(e.g. are you a lector, involved in the Youth Group, Children’s
Liturgy of The Word, etc.) Catholic Background-Attitudes and
Disposition to serve catholic education positively. It is essential
that I be able to speak to all of these areas, and so if I can’t, then
I will not be compelled to complete any Pastoral Reference Forms simply
because you approach me. We need in our schools, teachers who take
seriously their faith. Teachers, who participate in it, celebrate it,
and are willing to be able to transmit that to their students. The fact
that you graduated from a Catholic School, and have received the
sacraments of the church, does not qualify you to be a teacher in our
schools. If you plan to approach me for this reference, please make sure
that all of these criteria are covered, if they are not then I will not
be completing and signing your form. Fr. John Facey

The power and beauty of a great organ " raises the spirits, lifts our hearts and minds, and it inspires our lives. With it's rich resources, the organ helps to explain sacred mysteries, reveals divine grace, and stirs our deepest emotions. The unleashing of the full spectrum of an organ's power can move us to tears, can console our grief, and can enhance our joy." This quote is from the Association Of Organ Builders of America, and is certainly true. At this time with your help we would like to embark on an exciting new project for 2010. We need a new organ. This organ will refresh and invigorate our liturgical celebrations. Our hope is to commission and purchase a new Allen Digital Organ. ** update ** Check out the attached link. It is the press release from Glionna Mansell Corporation highlighting the details of our newly ordered organ. We are pleased to say with the incredible response we have had to our " Be an Organ Donor Campaign" we have been able to set the wheels in motion, and our new organ is on it's way! Glionna Mansell Corporation Please feel free to visit our display set up in the church hall for the next several weekends and check out our updated progress, and if you would like any further information please do not hesitate to ask...With all of us working together we can make this our most successful project to date!!! |

Chapel Of Adoration..... |
RCIA |
|
This year the Chapel of Adoration celebrates it’s 20th Anniversary, and it is in need of some major refurbishing. To facilitate these renovations the Chapel will be closed from Monday, October 4th, 2010 at 7:30am and will re-open Monday, November 1st, 2010, at 7:30am. I realize that this will be an inconvenience, but several of the churches in the neighbourhood have Chapels and these are available. I would also remind you that during the month of October there will be disruptions in the church throughout the entire month for the installation of the new church organ. Please bare with us, as all of this is for the beautification of our place of worship.

Do you come to Mass every Sunday with your spouse and children and do not receive Eucharist with them because you are not Catholic? I know that there are many of you in this circumstance. Have you thought about becoming a Catholic or at least inquiring about the Catholic faith? Perhaps the R.C.I.A. is for you! This is a time of prayer, learning and reflection about the Catholic Faith. A time of preparation if Baptized, to ask do I want to be received into the Catholic Church, so that I may participate fully with my family in the Mass? If you have not been baptized, perhaps this will be a time to embrace the Salvation offered to us through the Death, and Resurrection of Jesus. The R.C.I.A. begins in September, and culminates with either Baptism or a Profession of Faith at the Easter Vigil, along with being Confirmed and receiving the Eucharist. If you are interested, why not give me a call at the office- Fr. John 905-270-2301 ext. 225. I look forward to speaking with you. |
